About Me

Jason Arney-O’Neil is an interdisciplinary artist with a focus on sculpture. His artistic journey began after he retired early from a career as a firefighter and paramedic, marking a significant shift in his professional life.

In 2013, he relocated from Minnesota to California, embracing a nomadic lifestyle as a sand sculptor. He immersed himself in the vibrant coastal art scene, becoming known as the “Sandman of Avila Beach.” During his time in California, Jason spent his days busking and sculpting along the coast, from San Diego to San Luis Obispo, captivating both locals and tourists.

While he cherished his experiences in California, Jason felt a strong pull back to his home state of Minnesota. Since returning, he has made rapid and strategic advancements in his career as a theme park sculptor, creating a diverse range of large-scale projects and further developing his technical expertise. His progress is the result of countless hours of hard work, research, and collaboration. Jason is a natural leader and keen observer, a skilled designer with extensive knowledge of fabrication techniques and the ability to use various tools and equipment. He is steadfast in his values and an absolute pleasure to work with.
